The reason of this high consumption is the massive production which creates highly competitive markets. Especially some resources such as iron-steel, petroleum and natural gas have become more and more precious as a result of excessive consumption.
The production technology and know-how are not in the monopoly of the industrialized countries but they turned into a strong weapon targeting Europe in the hands of Japan, China, India and other Far East countries. The low costing similar products are now used
by everybody all around the world. The same process has been lived in almost every sector from electronics to textile, from furniture to plastic, to toys. The financial balances of the world have turned upside down first with Asian China crisis and now with Big Brother’s flu and economic global infection. The economists claim that the crisis will get more serious in 2009. The purchasing power of people has been decreasing for years. The unemployment rate has been increasing and the budget allocated for education and health cost has been shrinked.
As the democracy and freedom gets limited all around the world, and as the social state idea weakens the social problems increase. This time, even 1, 5 trillion USD are not enough to repair the collapsed economies. Within this one poled world mankind has suffered a lot for the last 20 years. The elections in the States and the presidency of Obama seem to diminish the suffering of mankind. We can have a rest for a period of 4 years with Obama, but it needs time to improve the economy. Wish to have a peaceful world…
